Deceptive Company

Saw their ad for Monet tickets in Chicago for $23.99 per ticket for Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays through September 25,2022. Paid that plus $4 per ticket but only received discount codes and no tickets. Then I had to pay more to get the actual tickets... a total of $51.97 per ticket. What a scam!
Do not use them! Totally deceptive... hoping to help people avoid this company...

57 Events since 2014

I have been using Goldstar since 2014 and have attended 57 events over the years. I've never had an issue with the company or the tickets. Sometimes the tickets are delivered digitally and sometimes they are at the event's will call. I feel like Goldstar does a good job of giving notifications on the ticket delivery method and I've never encountered an issue with admission at any venue. I've also never had an issue with obstructed views with a venue. I will continue to purchase tickets from Goldstar!

Tyson Fury Glove not received

I purchased a Tyson Fury signed Union Jack glove and case 2 weeks at the actual fight. I was assured the items would be posted out on the Monday but to date I am still waiting. I have emailed Goldstar 3 times now and no reply at all, terrible customer service. I will be starting a county claim against them under the sale of goods act

Nah...

Terrible experience. Bought tickets to a show for my wife and son for Christmas. Then, on the day of the show, I received an email from Goldstar saying our tickets had been canceled. I called the venue to be sure the show was still going on and they said yes, and that our tickets should still be good. I emailed Goldstar and received another generic message stating the venue told them to cancel the tickets. I asked why, and they responded with the same generic message with no further info. I asked one more time and received the snarky response of, "if I knew more, I would have told you more." In all of their previous emails, that was never mentioned - it just said the venue told them to cancel with zero added details (not even to say they don't know why). I don't think it's odd for me to want to know why tickets that I had purchased well in advance were canceled only a few hours before the show (if the show itself had been canceled, I would understand, but it went on as planned). I ended up calling the venue again and they said that they absolutely did not tell anyone to cancel our tickets. So, who knows what the deal is, but we definitely missed the show we were dying to see and still have no idea why... We shall see if a refund is actually processed.

UPDATE: 2 1/2 weeks later and no sign of a refund and no response to two messages that have been sent through their contact center.

UPDATE TO THE UPDATE: Sent a third message and finally got a response. They did acknowledge that no refund had been given, but they would put it through now. I did receive the refund ultimately, so no monetary loss in the deal. Just a wife and son who got their hopes up and had them dashed when we were practically out the door for, as it turns out, absolutely no reason at all. I wouldn't feel comfortable relying on them again for tickets to anything. It's a crapshoot as to whether the tickets will work and, as was the case with us, you may not find out that they won't until the same day as the show.

Theater tickets Rip Off

This is the second time we have purchased theater tickets from GoldStar and there won't be a third. What may seem like a discounted price is because you get side seating/obstructive view seats. Since you can see or select the seats before you purchase, you're stuck with what they give you. In these days of COVID, we found everyone in our row had purchased from GoldStar and were upset that we were shoulder to shoulder. Fortunately the theater manager found other seats. Won't trust GoldStar again.

Unable to access Mobile online tickets prior to performance

Folks beware. Purchased 2 tickets online with CC to Hairspray performance in San Diego for 11/16/21. When I attempted to access tickets prior to the performance, there was no record of purchase either on Goldstar or Ticketmaster. Could not contact customer service by phone and am still waiting for an E-mail response. I have already filed a dispute with my CC. We will see if I can get a refund. I have wasted so much time and effort and have yet to see any refund. Absolutely unacceptable! Caveat Emptor!

Will not refund Illegal practices less then 1 star

I have been requesting a refund for tickets i can not use because of vaccination requirements. I am being told to sell or give away my tickets. This is NOT RIGHT OR LEGAL. I will never use this company again. And in the process of contacting legal aid to sue. I spent hundreds of dollars for these tickets and was told by a employee their to sell them or give them away. That is unacceptable service!

I would rate a 0 if I could. Fraud Alert!

Charged me for 2 tickets $148 to Knott's Scarry Farm and never sent them to me never sent them to will call either. I tried calling and no one answers the phone. I wrote 3 emails and no response. I lost my money and my kids were unable to go to the event. Fraudulent Company! I reported them to the FTC.

Fraud

Bought tickets for the family for a show and dinner. It was the pirates dinner in Buena Park on Goldstar it says to pick up tickets at will call. I got there and they said my purchase was not in the system. They asked where I got my tickets and they said they don't do business with Goldstar. The show was sold out so I could t even buy tickets there. I reported Goldstar to my credit card company since there customer service doesn't want to respond back. Do not use Goldstar they are a fraud.

Always something to look forward to

Love the summary of virtual events we can participate in during the pandemic. We watch things we know and like and try out new events. Tomorrow I signed up for a Kygo live stream. I told my husband and teenage sons that we will get together at 6pm for the event followed by dinner. I also believe we have to help artists through these difficult times.

Answer This Question

Q:

Do you know what seats you will have when you buy from Goldstar?

A:

No, just the area of the theater. E.g. Balcony, orchestra, etc.

by Caroline H. - July 11, 2022

A:

Many of the GoldStar offers say "General Admission" which means if you get to theater early, you choose and can get great seats. Some offers say "assigned by venue" which means you get what the theater assigns (unsold seats for that performance) and you won't know until you get there. I had a front row seat to Cirque de Soleil! Fabulous. I've also had nosebleed seats at a concert. "You pays your dime and you takes your chances." I've been a member for years and I love it.

by Neal48 - October 15, 2015

A:

Yes, if the venue has assigned seating. There are venues that have partial assigned & general, so check it first. With some concerts you are unable to print the tickets until 48 hours prior to the event.

Answer This Question

Q:

I want to buy tickets to the New York Renaissance Faire this weekend. There is no option to print the tickets, on reserve them to be picked up at the box office (called "will call" tickets). The NY Ren Faire website however says they do not to "will call" tickets. Does that mean if I buy them on Goldstar I will lose my money?

A:

I would not buy them unless you can get the tickets in your hand. Contact Goldstar before you purchase and see what their explanation is.

by Misty Kuhn - August 21, 2015

A:

Agree with all the above. Whenever I've had a ques. I send them a note and they get right back to me and have always been a big help. They have a great customer service crew!
